Sam Wong is a photographer and cinematographer based in Vancouver, BC. He is a graduate of the BFA Photography program at Emily Carr University of Art + Design.
Sam works primarily with photography, however he often ventures into the realms of matte paintings, short films, or installations. He often borrows technical or conceptual components from cinema such as elements of time, projection, parallax as apparatuses to assist in evocation of ideas. His modus operandi can involve visually manifesting less-than-tangible concepts through lens-based mediums, but much of his focus is also placed on creating certain dynamics with the viewer by controlling how the work is perceived.
